“It is our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” Albus Dumbledore (from the Harry Potter series)
Oh, what wisdom we can gain from the fictional headmaster of Hogwarts! Think back on some of the choices you have made—good or bad. We often believe things happen to us, but more often than not at the moment between cause and effect, we made a choice.
What Dumbledore doesn’t say explicitly here is — rarely is it our abilities that let us down; more than likely we undermine our ability with our safe choices.
Our choices have the capacity to limit our ability. Most of our daily decisions are based on what we believe our abilities to be. Have you ever said, “I can’t believe I was able to do that!” Challenge your abilities. Push your limits. It is the only way you can find out what your true abilities really are!
Happy Friday!

My friend Terry and I climbed to the top of St. Paul’s Cathedral and walked outside. The wind was gusting, it was definitely scary, but the view was insane!
“I can’t believe I was able to do that!”
