Write It Down!

As we head into year-end, we will soon be bombarded with the talk of resolutions and goal-setting so we start the year off “right”! Very few people set goals and even fewer actually write them down (3%), but it’s really unfortunate and here’s why.

Did you know we are 42% more likely to achieve a goal that is written down? Thinking about a goal activates the right side of the brain (our creative side), but if we write down the goal, we activate the left side as well (logic-based). In doing so, we tell our consciousness (and our subconsciousness) – “this is not just a dream, I really want this, so let’s get cooking!”

If the science behind this is true then who should be writing out goals and reviewing them regularly? Of course everyone, but what about anyone who is sick, especially cancer patients? What about athletes? Goals are difficult enough to achieve, let’s ignite both the right and left hemispheres of the brain so we substantially increase our odds of achieving ALL of our goals!!

With Gratitude,
Beth
