Motivational Monday!

Saturday I went to the gym with my daughter and my husband. My daughter asked me to spot her in the weight room. I had never spotted anyone before and since I tap out at 7 lb weights, I did not think I was the right person for the job, but I accepted the task anyway.

As she laid on the bench, I could see the strain in her face as she struggled to lift the weight-laden bar. And it clearly got heavier the more times she lifted it but she continued to press on because I was there for her when the bar simply became too heavy to lift.

This interaction reminded me so much of life. Is there anyone in your life that you know is lifting a heavy load all alone without the help of a “spotter?” Jumping in as “spotter” doesn’t mean we lift the load for them, it simply means we make it just a little bit lighter and more manageable. So, on this Monday in December, perhaps we should be asking “Who in my life could use a spotter? And, is it me?” Yup. It’s time.

With Gratitude,
Beth
P.S. Please share your “spotter stories” with me. Meeting for a cup of coffee is an excellent spot!
