Yesterday I had scheduled a date with myself to plan out my 2019 goals. Part one of my goal-setting process is to go back and reflect on 2018. I have about 15 questions I write down my answers to so that I have an accurate depiction of what happened last year. I certainly don’t want to repeat any mistakes and I do want to capitalize on my successes.

Do you ever have a “year in review” session with yourself? What were your big wins? What were you most proud of? What were your greatest lessons? What would you do differently? What was your most thoughtful and charitable act? What was the biggest risk you took? What about your smartest decision? What do you need to stop doing?

Regardless of whether you are a CEO or a student, reflecting on last year is a must. Dr. Paul TP Wong may have said it best: “Time spent in self-reflection is never wasted – it is an intimate date with yourself.”With Gratitude,
