“You are strong when you know your weaknesses. You are beautiful when you appreciate your flaws. You are wise when you learn from your mistakes.” Unknown
Whoever delivered these words of wisdom was incredibly thoughtful in choosing three key words that make this quote so powerful: know, appreciate, and learn. “Know” was chosen, not “overcome”. “Appreciate” was selected over “fix”. And “learn” was preferred over “flawless” or “perfect”.
No one is perfect. No one. So can we look at our weaknesses differently now? Isn’t there strength in knowing exactly what our weaknesses are? This is true with beauty too—appreciating our flaws brings us acceptance, peace, and (self)love. And then there’s wisdom, and most of mine have come from good old fashioned trial and error. It has been my best teacher.
Today, take a moment to digest your weaknesses, your flaws, and your mistakes. What if they weren’t liabilities at all, but assets? Hmm. Assets. Riches. Part of your whole net-worth. They have made you strong, beautiful, and wise! An internal “thank-you” may be in order.
Happy Friday!
