Job Titles Matter

Have you ever thought about your job title? Are you a salesperson, a teacher, or a marketing exec? Regardless of your title, someone will almost always ask “So what do you do?” We then have an opportunity to explain in more detail exactly what we do because our title rarely covers it.

You may have already seen this video by Ryan Estis but it’s worth watching again. It’s his exchange with a barista at an airport. Near the end of this captivating video, she shares with Ryan her job title after he misspeaks.

After watching the video, would you like to change your job title? The new title certainly would not be official or recognized by your company, but it might give you more clarity on exactly who you serve and what you do. Way to go Lily in Minnesota; we can all benefit from your lead.

With Gratitude,
Beth
