If you are one of those people who loves to open “Motivational Monday” then it might intrigue you to know that motivation is a better predictor of career success than intelligence, ability or salary! This is really important to know, especially if you participate in the hiring process.
Here are the 6 common factors that motivate people in life:
money and rewards, desire to be the best, helping others,
power and fame, recognition, and passion. Do you know which one motivates you the most? Take a moment now to place all 6 factors in the order in which they apply to you.
Why is this important? Well, when we are not acting on our goal, either the pain of taking action is greater than the pleasure of achieving our goal, or the pain of not achieving our goal is simply not strong enough. So it’s time to double-down on what motivates us. If, for example, our motivator is money—write down an intention today and read it multiple times a day that says “I will take bold action steps every day toward my goal so that I am constantly working toward improving my financial situation!” Do you think things would change if we read that every day? Yup, me, too!
With Gratitude,
Beth
