Motivational Monday!

Last week I finished listening to “Can’t Hurt Me” on Audible by David Goggins. What an amazing inspirational story! He is the only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy Seals, Army Ranger, and United States Air Force Tactical Air Controller. He is an endurance athlete as well and Outside Magazine named him The Fittest (Real) Man in America.

As a coach, my job is to help people overcome their own mind, although they don’t always know that when they first arrive. They believe the adversary is some obstacle out in front of them that they need to conquer. It’s not the obstacle that’s the problem, it’s their view of the obstacle that’s stopping them. Goggins proves this time and time again in “Can’t Hurt Me.” At times, I truly felt his feats was super-human. Read for yourself, he’s incredible.

I am not encouraging any of us to take on what David Goggins did—and he wouldn’t either! Conquering our unruly mind is a personal journey; use it for exactly what you want in life, but don’t skip this step. This is the key to almost anything you want in your life. The mind is a powerful tool that we can use to overcome almost any obstacle. Know your adversary. That’s how you win!

With Gratitude,
Beth
P.S. One small caveat: The book contains a lot of profanity.
