Motivational Monday!

#NoHumanIsLimited On this Monday morning, how could I not write about Eliud Kipchoge, the 34-year-old Kenyan who achieved an unimaginable sports milestone in Vienna, Austria this weekend when he finished a marathon in under 2 hours. To put this in perspective, he was essentially running 4:34 minutes miles for 26.2 miles! That’s crazy!

#NoHumanIsLimited  Maybe you and I will never run a marathon, let alone in under 2 hours, but Eliud Kipchoge taught us all that no human is limited as his hashtag declares. Kipchoge’s historic race isn’t necessarily about running at all–it’s about perseverance, grit, failure, faith, belief, fear, success, doubt, and whole host of other things. But if you only see this as an historic event that isn’t tied directly to you, then you’ve completely missed the significance his incredible accomplishment.

#NoHumanIsLimited   Eliud Kipchoge ran this race for us. His success is our success because, in doing so, he said, ‘If I can do it, so can you.’ You and I are not limited but every day we create self-imposed limits by not challenging ourselves and by playing it safe and small. Get rid of all your sentences that begin with, “I could never…” and start some new sentences with, “I’m capable of anything I put my mind to doing.” If Kipchoge had said, “I could never…” we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Thank you, Eliud!!

With Gratitude,
Beth
P.S. I recommend reading the article of how Kipchoge accomplished this amazing feat: https://www.nytimes.com/…/eliud-kipchoge-marathon-record.ht…
