There is a lurking force that can rob us of our happiness, confidence, and hope; it sends us spiraling from a self-assured state of mind to one of worry and uncertainty almost daily. And unfortunately, we are all fighting this secret battle against this malicious enemy that we call self-doubt.
Self-doubt is a special kind of hell. Napoelon Hill said, “Indecision crystalizes into DOUBT, the two blend and become FEAR!” Well that certainly isn’t the recipe for success! We don’t talk about self-doubt much, but surely it’s a problem for all of us, right? How can we overcome it?
If we think we can talk ourselves out of self-doubt we are sadly mistaken. Rarely, if ever, will that work. So, stop thinking and start doing. Take action. Be brave. Create momentum. Baby steps. Look back at past successes to boost our confidence. And remember the words of Gandhi, “The gap between what we do and what we’re capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.” Doubt, not lack of ability, is keeping us from everything we truly want. Let’s GO!
With Gratitude,
Beth
