“My scars tell a story. They are a reminder of times when life tried to break me, but failed. They are markings of where the structure of my character was welded.” Steve Maraboli

Do you have scars on your body? I definitely do and I can tell you the story behind every one. My body is marred, for sure, but it is like a little treasure map of all the things I have battled through and survived. And not all the scars I have are on the outside. Some you can’t see but they are no less a sign of my strength for having overcome them.

The body has an absolutely astonishing ability to heal itself. Think, for a minute, of all the things you have healed from. Amazing, right? The body is incredible—inside and out. And yet, we still have scars, maybe to remind us of the battles, or is it to remind us of how strong we are?

Today, in the Unites States at least, many things are beginning to open up as we transition our way out of this pandemic. There will be scars from this one, regardless of how “good” our time was in isolation. But like any wound, we must tend to it. The body will heal, and we will have a scar, but don’t overlook the wound now. Care for it like you would if the wound was on a child, with tremendous TLC. It’s really important. We will look back one day and tell our story of this scar, but for now, let’s take the time to properly heal.

XO
Beth
