“I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear.” ~ Rosa Parks
I have found that people are always looking for an easy hack—they want to know a simple way to fix their issue. I call it the Advil Answer. They just want to know if there’s a “pill” for this, simple and quick. We’ve created this quick-fix culture in the age of, “I want it now.” Quick fixes are rarely the best answer, but sometimes they work.
So today’s quote gives us just that—the quick fix. Fear holds us back from most things in life that, ironically, we actually truly want. But, “when one’s mind is made up,” fear diminishes. Deciding makes fear take a back seat, although it won’t go away completely, but that keeps us on our toes, which is a good thing.
Today is a decision day! Trust yourself. You may even need to say those words out loud. “I trust myself!” Decide to take the first step—that’s it. Decide to take one step toward that thing you really want. It’s the quick fix you were looking for, albeit scary. But once you decide, really decide, the fear will back down immediately! Be Brave! We got this!
