Trees That Bear Fruit

I saw a quote yesterday, that I have seen before, and I absolutely love it: “The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.” Heck, yeah!

One of the challenges I see with my clients, myself included, is that we forget there is a gestation period. Maybe it’s not that we forget, but more so that we simply aren’t patient enough to wait. We want it yesterday. Being impatient is not a good thing, but do you know what’s worse? Giving up or moving on—that’s definitely worse.

So what seed have you planted, that you are now impatiently staring at and thinking, “Grow, darn it!” Is it helpful to think of the seed and the dirt in your mind’s eye? It’s a little ridiculous to expect fruit just yet, right? Now, the best thing we can do is to continue to carefully tend to it. Seeds need water, sun, and rich soil—what does your seed need to help it grow? I know you want fruit, so do I, but let’s patiently put in the work that this seed needs. We can do this!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
