Narrow And Deep

A few weeks ago I was having a chat with my daughter. She, like many of us, had been spreading herself too thin. She said, “Yes,” to everyone and everything. I suggested she make a conscious effort to slow down, as I had to do the same thing not too long ago. We called it, “narrow and deep.”

I asked her yesterday how things were going with this new way of life and she explained that she had come across a few challenges. She found herself out with friends and knew she really needed to get home for another commitment, so she left. She seemed a little disappointed with herself for not leaving her friends earlier. I explained that change is a process—maybe even a life-long process—that we are constantly becoming more aware of ourselves and our actions. I told her, “As soon as you became aware, you left!” Kudos!

Success is great, but awareness is the linchpin. If there is anything you want to change in your life, awareness is where we start. Change is also about action, nothing happens without that. But when I hear a client talk about awareness for the thing they want to change, then I know change is imminent because once we see it, we can’t unsee it! That’s the game changer and success always follows!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
