Motivational Monday!

2022. It’s finally here. For many of us, me included, we were looking forward to saying, “Goodbye,” or maybe, “Good riddance,” to a year that we couldn’t wait to jettison into the past, given all the adversity 2021 brought. So as we turn the page and take a full-body leap into of all the good things we want to happen in 2022, I want you to consider this the year you think like Secretariat—yes, the race horse.

Secretariat was arguable the greatest racehorse of all time. He was a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who was the ninth winner of the American Triple Crown, setting and still holding the fastest times recorded in all three races. In both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, Secretariat broke last out of the gate. Even though he started the race last, he went on to win.

I want the same for you and me. By now, we are all hearing about resolutions like losing weight, getting organized, and living life more fully—all great! But what happens in a month? 92% of resolutions will be discarded by January 19th! That’s not happening for you and me this year because we are taking Secretariat’s path—we are coming out of the gates strong, but not first. Our goal is to win OUR race, to keep our aspirations in sight, and stay strong throughout the race/year, regardless of what all the other horses are doing around us. It’s our race and we have a plan. And if you should fall off the horse, don’t worry. Dust yourself off and get back on the horse—because we are finishing this race!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
