Motivational Monday!

Doug and I were watching the Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys game on Saturday night. It was scheduled for an 8:15 pm start and the temperature in Philadelphia at gametime was 21 degrees. That’s cold! It wasn’t -13, like it was at Lambeau Field in 1967 when the Green Bay Packers played the Cowboys in the NFC Championship Game (it reached -18 by the end of the game.) That game holds the record for the coldest game in NFL history.

Seeing how cold all the athletes were, from the comfort of my own toasty family room, got me thinking. Do you know what a quarterback does when it’s that cold? Even at 21 degrees, his fingers would be numb and tingly and tasks would be a little harder to perform. The answer is: he plays. He plays like any other game. And if it starts to rain and the winds pick up, do you know what he does then? Right again, he plays. Quitting isn’t an option. Waiting for better weather isn’t an option either. He might make some adjustments but the goal is still the goal, and he marches on through the adversity. He doesn’t quit because things got tough.

O.K., so here we are on January 10th, 5 days away from when most New Year’s resolutions will be canned. If you’re feeling like the temperature is dropping and the winds are picking up for your resolution, I want you to think like your favorite NFL quarterback who’s standing on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field in a very important game. What would he do? That’s right, he would play his heart out! So that’s what we will do, too! Right?

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!

Beth
