When I am asked to speak about human potential, one of my go-to thoughts is about the U.S. Army’s slogan, “Be all that you can be.” Their ads have been brilliant for as long as I can remember. They show men and woman doing amazing feats like jumping out of planes, flying helicopters, etc. It always made me think about how I’d love to do all of those things.
What the U.S. Army comprehends and appreciates is that human potential is unlimited. But wouldn’t you think if our potential is truly unlimited, then why aren’t we all being all that we can be? What’s holding us back?
I am not encouraging you or me to join the Army, but I am encouraging us to think like they do for a second. The Army knows, if we join, they will help us tap into every part of our potential! They will help us be all that we can be—physically, mentally, intellectually, etc. Why don’t we do this for ourselves, without the Army? The answer is usually fear. We ask ourselves questions that the Army never asks: Should I? Can I? What if? Today, ask yourself a better question, what does “Be All That You Can Be” mean to you?
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
