Friday’s Quote

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” ~Alice Walker

When I read this quote, I knew I had to share it with you! This is what I do as a coach every day and this is what my coach does for me. Coaches help us recognize the power we have and they empower us to courageously tap into that incredible source so we can live the life we truly want. We already have the power!

Take a good look at something at work or at home that’s bothering you, something you haven’t been able to “fix,” as of yet. Now ask yourself what Walker might ask of you (and me,) “If I had the power, what would I do?” List anything and everything. Don’t limit the possibilities. What would you do if you were brave?

We think we have a lot less power than we really do. I encourage people to do things that they might never have thought about doing, but they were capable of all along. We craft emails, we send texts, we reach out on LinkedIn, we talk to our boss, we talk to our team—none of which seems scary until it’s you that has to press the send button or enter the room to chat. We have the power, we’ve always had the power, we simply need to muster up the courage to use it—and use it correctly, strategically, and respectfully. Everything changes when we tap into this powerful source that has been with us all along!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
