I was walking along the Hudson River the other day and I was mesmerized by the tide. Maybe because the Hudson is right off the Atlantic, it’s seems to ebb and flow with a mind of it’s own, never looking the same on any given day. What this river does do every day without fail, is move with ease, regardless of what gets in it’s way. It’s beautiful to watch.
We have witnessed almost everything in this river, like cruise ships, barges, tug boats, wave runners, sail boats, kayaks, paddle boarders, and more. The tide is never hindered or obstructed by these impediments. It never baulks or complains about how hard it is to continue moving forward with it’s daily task of the tide. I have certainly never seen it quit or give up in frustration. No, the tide, simply goes around the interference with grace and ease and carries on. The ease with which water operates is beautiful to watch.
I want to be more like water. I want to move around all my impediments with that kind of ease and grace. I want to see hinderances like water sees them—no judgement. I earned a lot watching the tide the other day. I can ebb and flow with ease, too. Water is my muse today. I’ll ask myself, “What would water do?”
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
