“Why do you sit there looking like an envelope without any address on it?” ~ Mark Twain
Mark Twain was so amazingly clever and witty; I enjoy his quotes because they always contain so much raw truth, and almost always make me smile. As the English writer, Geoffrey Chaucer, once said, “Many a truth is said in jest.”
So today, let’s consider ourselves to be an envelope. To where is your envelope addressed? Where are you going? Where am I going? We can’t get there without an address directing this envelope. Without an address, what happens to an envelope? NOTHING! It just sits there. Even with a wrong address an envelope can and will travel. It might get returned to the sender, but it will move.
Ask yourself, “Do I have an address on my envelope? Or am I just sitting there, no address, yet expecting to end up at another destination far greater than where I am now?” If we have no address on the envelope, we need to wake up and concede that our envelope is simply going to sit there forever. An envelope needs an address just like a person needs a goal, otherwise neither will move. Give that some thought on this lovely Friday!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
