Today Is Film Day!

It’s December 8th and I am almost certain all your thoughts are on this holiday season. I doubt your mind has even ventured on to New Year’s Eve and all that follows—I know mine hasn’t. One day at a time here.

But soon enough, in 23 days to be exact, 2022 will be behind us. We will have closed the books on the last 365 days of life for both our personal as well as our professional life. Very soon, we are going to start hearing about 2023 in earnest. We will get bombarded with the ideas of goals and resolutions, changes we need to make, changes we should have made and, as a result, 2022 will be a faint image in our rearview mirror.

But I say, “Not so fast!” Let’s stop and really reflect on 2022. What did we do well? What did we do not so well? Are we where we want to be? Did we move the needle? Do you recall where you were in January of 2022? What changed—for you and those you you love? I can’t think of a better way to spend a quiet 20 minutes or so reflecting on this. How can we make 2023 amazing if we haven’t really looked at how 2022 played out? Football teams look at the film of their previous game for a reason—they don’t want to make the same mistakes. Consider today “Film Day.”

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!

P.S. I do my Goal Setting Class in February. Most resolutions fail by January 21st, so by February everyone is ready to take another crack at it! Stay tuned!
