I hope you had a fabulous holiday! As we head into the New Year, I want to share a little bit about how I feel about “New Year(s)”—Im not a fan! I don’t know that I have ever put my finger on exactly what makes me unsettled about this holiday, but I know I run through a myriad of emotions and most of them aren’t really warm and fuzzy. Maybe it’s all that leads up to New Year’s Eve that I hate, because once January 2nd rolls around, I feel amazing again. I get super focused on conquering my goals.
So today is my goal setting day and I am going to invite you to have a goal setting day, too. What is it that you want to accomplish in 2023? Have you given it any thought? Have you written anything down? I haven’t written anything down yet, but today is that day! It’s the day I really decide what I want to accomplish, and, perhaps even more important—WHY.
Here is the truth about goals—most people don’t set goals (3% do). For those that do, they are rarely written down (1%)— Hint: writing them down is uber-important. Most goals are poorly written and therefore are rarely attained. Most people don’t ask themselves WHY they want to accomplish said goals, which comes in really handy for rebounding when they contemplate quitting the goal. So if you want 2023 to be stellar, take a goal setting day and write down some things and ask yourself, “Why do I want this goal to happen for me?” You can even ask another great question which is, “How will I FEEL when this goal is accomplished?” That one’s a doozy!
