Someone shared with me yesterday that they had read a book about leadership. They went on to explain exactly what it was that they learned from the book, and it was good, too! It gave them a really good data point to begin the work. Applying it, though, is the hard part.
You read this blog often, if not daily, right? Are you applying the concepts at work or at home? I ask because what is most often the case is that we read the book or the blog and we move on. Even if it was a good! It’s the application part that creates the change and the self improvement, not the reading part. Reading is only step one. It’s like going to a restaurant and looking at the menu, but never ordering. Step 1 must be followed by Step 2.
We talk about a lot of things here. Yesterday we talked about patience and how the lack of it effects everyone in the vicinity—like a tornado. Impatience is not just a you-thing or a me-thing, it ends up being an us-thing, unfortunately. Let’s give some thought to acting upon what we read. Maybe look back over some old blogs, what could we apply right now? Step 1 isn’t enough—we need Step 2.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
