Do you ever mull over in your mind, “How could I do better?” This is usually a work-related question, but it can also be something we ponder about in regard to our personal life as well. Have you ever defined, “better?” Is it more money, less stress, more happiness, or something else? Really defining it is a great first step.
After we pinpoint what is making us unhappy or dissatisfied, then we can move on to the next best question, which is, “What can I do about it?” I know this sounds incredibly obvious and maybe even unremarkable, but you’d be amazed at how many people don’t even stop to define it, let alone question what they can do about it. No, most people wallow in it. This isn’t intended as an affront to anyone. This behavior is common because when you’re the one in it, you can’t see your way out and you don’t know where to start. It can seem hopeless.
Today, I’m suggesting Step 1 and 2 for all of us. Define “better” for yourself and follow it up with, “What can I do about it?” Simple, right? Well, sort of. Be honest with yourself, that’s really important. And if you’re really, truly stuck, email me. No one likes to be in this position. Stuck wears on people; it gets heavier as time goes on. And if you know someone who is in this position, reach out to them. Send them this post. Helping a friend is never a bad thing.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
