Yesterday, Doug and I went to a local coffee shop for a cup of tea. While we were sitting there chatting, a woman walked in who was visibly pregnant. As I looked at her from afar, I felt myself begin to smile, warmly, thinking back to when I was pregnant. I don’t know if I comprehended the enormity of what was going on inside my body then, but I certainly do now.
Think about this woman for a second: she is growing another human being inside her body! That’s phenomenal, right? It made me think of all the other things our bodies can do like fighting off disease, maybe even cancer, heal itself, breath, a pumping heart, and we didn’t even get to the brain yet! We may overlook this all daily, but you see it today, right? You see how amazing you are?
I’m guessing that last statement may have hit a nerve. I’m guessing you were with me about the body and the mind until I said, “… how amazing YOU are?” It was fine when I gave credit to your body, but once I said, “You,” it might have been hard to accept—but it’s true! How can your entire body and mind be amazing and miraculous and not you? I hear a, “But…,” coming along, but I have my hands over my ears and I’m singing, “Lalalalalalalala,” so I can’t hear you! Today, let AMAZING and MIRACULOUS sink in. Yes, that’s YOU! Say it out loud, “I am AMAZING and MIRACULOUS!”
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
