As I was signing on to Facebook this morning and I saw a picture of a friend of mine from high school who must be on vacation in some tropical location. The picture of the ocean looks amazing and for a moment, I had a twinge of envy. Who wouldn’t want to be wading in the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean?
As I continued to move through Facebook, I noticed other pictures and I was reminded that a picture does not tell the whole story. Many have belabored the truth about this particular anxiety-inducing downside to social media, but isn’t it true even when there is no picture? Isn’t it true that we don’t ever know the whole story about anyone, even those with whom we are the closest?
My cousin sent me a video recently of Mel Robbins and she said, “Can we all just put down the sword? Put down the sword.” I know that I can get caught up in the, “And she said…,” moments, but maybe it’s better if we just let it all go. We don’t know the whole story. Put down the sword.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
