Yesterday, I was researching a limiting belief exercise. The one I liked most was quite good. We were asked to finish this sentence, “I can’t become rich because…”. The instructor could have given us any sentence to finish, but this was the one we were tasked with completing 10 times—yes, 10 different answers to “why I can’t become rich.”
I decided to cheat a little and see what Google said about this limiting belief question and I was a bit surprised. The first thing that popped up was this: The primary reason for underachievement and failure is that the great majority of people don’t decide to be successful. WHAT? The great majority of people don’t decide to be successful? Wow, I have to be honest, that was never going to be one of my answers.
“I can’t become rich because…” is an incredibly common limiting belief that’s probably holding many of us back. But it’s not because of our education, or our upbringing, or the economy—it’s more likely because of our mindset. The great majority of people don’t decide to be successful. It’s a decision all of us have the capacity to make; it’s never been our education or our bloodline. It’s been within our grasp all along. It’s been one decision away.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
