Last Thursday, as I was returning to Hoboken from my friend’s home, I got stuck in traffic at the approach to the Lincoln Tunnel. If you’ve ever been where I am talking about, you know how crazy this spot can be. It all started right after the NJ Turnpike toll booth. Everyone merging into what eventually turns out to be two lanes. It was insane—so much so that my car kept beeping telling me I was getting to close to the other cars! I tried to tell her, “It’s not me, it’s them!”
As I sat there, essentially parked on a highway, I thought of us. Have you ever felt like this—stuck and no where to go to make things better? You hope that being patient and artfully maneuvering, until you can find a way to get unstuck, is the way out. I’m sure you have, yet it doesn’t make it any less frustrating. It’s certainly not a good feeling.
I share this story on a Monday because sometimes where we want to go isn’t always easy to get to. Sometimes it seems downright impossible. It’s important to remind ourselves that the destination is worth it. Focus on the destination, not how hard the journey is or is going to be. Home was certainly worth the aggravation! And, I didn’t see anybody quit on route 495! We all stuck with it, and I’m confident in saying that we are all glad we did.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
