Motivational Monday!

I was trying to watch the Philadelphia Eagles play the Dallas Cowboys yesterday, but it was blacked out in my area, so my only option was to watch the NFL Network’s RedZone. I’m not a huge fan of the RedZone mainly because it is like watching a 5-year-old with ADHD who just downed a double espresso. Holy Smokes, it’s a lot. But if you can’t get your team on T.V., or you just want the highlights, the RedZone is the place to be.

What I realized while watching this channel was that one of two things is going to happen—either it’s a big play or a big mistake. And if you’re listening, but not truly watching, like I was, you hear, “TOUCHDOWN,” a lot! Which made me think about you and me. Scoring is the point of football, it’s what makes winning possible. Once a score is confirmed, it’s there forever, even if you lose. The momentary “win” stays on the books forever, it’s a part of the team’s history. No one can take that particular “win” away.

How many “touchdowns” do you think you have “scored” in your lifetime? When things aren’t going as planned, we never focus on what went right in the past. We rarely look back and say, “I have a lot of ‘touchdowns’ that I am very proud of. Today is the day to recognize all that you’ve accomplished regardless of whether or not you got the big win. When the home team scores a touchdown, the whole stadium erupts—I want you and me to remember those times for ourselves! Beating ourselves up comes naturally, but not today. Today, I want you and me to remember the “TOUCHDOWNS” that we’ve earned! Listen to the crowd cheer!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
