After church yesterday, Doug and I went to brunch and then out for a for a little walk around the beautiful surrounding neighborhood. While we were walking along 9th street I noticed this gorgeous bloom. By itself, there is nothing peculiar about this flower, but if you had a full view of 9th street you would know why this was an unusual and perhaps even extraordinary sight.
On the morning of November 19th, it was about 36 degrees. 9th street is a beautifully tree lined street, but many of the leaves have already fallen, making the street feel a little colder and a little less inviting. Some of the brownstones there were beautifully decorated for fall, but one could see that the decorations had past their prime as the gourds and mums had seen better days. Yet there was this flower, maybe a Camelia, defying the odds. She stood tall, daring to bloom, as if to say, “Anything’s possible!”
Today, I want this courageous flower to be our inspiration! And our mantra will be, “Anything is possible!” What do you want to be possible today? If anything could be possible, what would you want to welcome into your world? Allow yourself to sink into that dream today. Think of this beautiful flower who is defying the odds of Mother Nature, and know this is true for you as well!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
P.S. Tomorrow we will get into why I chose the word, “welcome.”
