Friday’s Quote

“Until you cross the bridge of your insecurities, you can’t begin to explore your possibilities.” Tim Fargo

If only there was a real bridge! That would make it so much simpler, or at least more obvious. We don’t think about our own insecurities holding us back all the time, but we all know there’s more out there for us to explore and live into.

For fun, let’s pretend there really is a bridge. If you were, in fact, afraid to cross it, but had to, what would you do? My guess is that you would talk to someone you trusted and maybe even ask them to walk across the bridge with you so that you had some physical, as well as emotional, support. And that is not a bad idea at all. I love it, actually! So why don’t we enact this strategy with our real insecurities?

No one is ever really going to force us to face our insecurities. But Fargo’s quote is really helpful in thinking about how we would conquer them if we wanted to truly explore all that is possible for us! Ask yourself, “What is the insecurity I have in my life that is holding me back the most?” Is it fear of failure, rejection or being judged? Is it stress, workload, or measuring up? Whatever it is, it’s time to cross the bridge! And when you do, this insecurity will be left on the other side. You may have more bridges to cross, but let’s grab a trusted friend and get across this one. You can, in turn, help them cross their bridge, too!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
