Recently, I cut open an apple and it was rotten on the inside. The outside of that apple was absolutely beautiful, so you can imagine my disappointment when I saw the brown rot. A day or two later I cut open an eggplant and I discovered the same thing! The beautiful purple skin covering the eggplant was just a facade for the rotting vegetable. Of course, this made me think. To a certain extent, we are all like an apple or an eggplant—no one really knows what’s going on underneath the skin. The apple and the eggplant know, but no one else.
I received a text from Ryan Leak, I told you about him before. Look him up, he’s great. The text went out to his entire following and it said this, “My team and I are taking time this week to pray for others! Is there anything going on in your life or work that we can pray for?” Immediately I thought of my friend who is battling cancer and shot that prayer request right back to Ryan. That was April 1st.
On Tuesday, April 9th, I received a video from Leak explaining that he received over 3000 prayer requests. He was blown away by all that people are going through right now and he asked us all to please be kind. Which brings me back to the apple and the eggplant. On the outside, everything looked not only OK, but awesome, yet it was far from awesome. Everything we see is not always true. Who, in particular, are you struggling to be kind to? What if you could see on the inside? What if you could see the struggle, would you behave differently? Of course you would! It’s time to be kind!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
