Motivational Monday!

29 years ago today, I gave birth to my first child. I don’t think anyone truly understands the depths of giving birth or raising children until it’s way to late to turn around! If people did, in fact, understand, I believe there would be a much smaller population on the planet! Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change anything in my life, but childbirth, alone, tested a skillset and a mindset I didn’t even know I had!

The truth is, we can do hard things—we’ve done hard things, really hard. Yet when I ask a client to speak up for themselves or network with past colleagues or any other uncomfortable thing, I often get pushback. To a certain extent, giving birth has it’s advantages—there’s no turning back, we absolutely know what happens around the 9 month mark. We might be scared, but we all find a way through it.

What would you like to give birth to in your life, but maybe you’re a little scared? Is it a new you? Is it a new job? Is it a new relationship? What if there was a “no turning back” option on this one, so you had to make the call or move forward in some substantial way—who would you be then? 29 years ago I gave birth to my amazing daughter, Devon! Birthing babies or ideas or new journeys change the trajectory of your life. Be brave today and choose to “birth” something in your life that you really want. What needs to change? You can do hard things!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS! ~ And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEVON!
