Welcome to the home stretch for 2024! I was watching the US Open Tennis Championships and it got me thinking of this last quarter and the push to get whatever you want accomplished before 2024 comes to a close.
It was during the Tommy Paul match that I had the revelation. The camera shows only a couple of things during a match: the match itself, the announcers occasionally, the crowd, and “the box.” The box is the seating area that hold each player’s support team—and that is usually coaches, trainers, family, and friends. Some are sparse and others are filled, but every player has a box. And that made me think of you and me.
We have a box of coaches, trainers, family, and friends, too, but I feel like we don’t look to them as much as we should. Spouses usually get the lion’s share of this, but we have more than just spouses that we can turn to for support and guidance. Some of us don’t look for, or accept, help; we’ve decided we can do this on our own—why, I am not sure. So if you could get help from one family member or friend right now, who would it be and why? If we take a moment to answer this question, we can make Q4 UNBELIEVABLE! Remember, not one tennis player at the US Open Tennis Championships is there alone. Not one!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
