I recently started watching Ted Lasso again. My daughter was over this Saturday, and she’s not much of a TV person, but I had suggested Shrinking and she loved it, so I thought Ted Lasso would also be a good fit—and it was. Sunday, another one of my daughter’s came over and Clare and I declared, “We are watching Ted Lasso, want to watch it with us?” She agreed, and now the three of us are hooked on this heartwarming and uplifting comedy/drama!
I don’t know where you are stand currently, but as life would have it, we are on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster right now and Ted Lasso is exactly what my heart needs. He’s overly optimistic, he has an unwavering belief in the goodness of all people, he will always find the silver lining, he believes everyone deserves a second chance, and he always focuses on people over outcomes (this may be the one I love the most!). I wish there were more than just 3 seasons, but for now, I am joyfully devouring every episode as food for my soul and as my guidepost for how I’d like to see the world (and behave in it).
Sometimes we need a heart “check-in.” Where is your heart right now? Is it ‘hungry’? What is it craving to feel better? Sometimes, we ignore this, but we don’t have to wait for something external to change to make our heart feel better. We can take control and give our heart exactly what it needs—right now. My heart needs all the goodness Ted Lasso has to offer. Please join me!! And thanks, Ted! You’re a good man!
All the best,
Beth Fitzgerald
