Have you ever thought about what you are truly capable of? Do you ever test your limits, or try to push past your preconceived notions of what you can do? Most of us have a very low threshold for discomfort and limited confidence in your ability, but maybe that is because we are not a Navy SEAL.
When we want to accomplish something we believe is “beyond our scope” perhaps it’s best that we enlist the mindset of the Navy SEALs. Have you ever heard of the 40% rule? Essentially, it states that at the point that our mind believes we are done, our body still has the capacity to do 40 percent more. Wow?
Don’t lose the power of this rule by only applying it to your physical ability. Apply this 40% rule to anything that you could possibly say “I quit” to. The 40% rule isn’t really about the body at all, it’s about the mind! This rule reminds us that our mind lies. We aren’t done yet; heck, we aren’t even halfway there! DO NOT QUIT!
With Gratitude,
Beth
Here is the video of Jesse Itzler, the man who hired the Navy SEAL to live with him for a month and learned the 40% rule the hard way: https://youtu.be/9I_u4oZqF8c
