Friday’s Quote

“Bravery doesn’t mean you aren’t scared. It means you go anyway.” Unknown

Yesterday we celebrated the 75th anniversary of D-Day. I had the honor of visiting Normandy a few years ago. Standing on the beaches where the allied forces landed on that fate-filled day and looking up at the cliffs where the heavily armed Germans were positioned was eerily surreal. One couldn’t help but think how terrified the men who stormed the beach that day must have been.

As we stood on the beach in silence trying to absorb what had taken place on this hallowed ground, our tour guide said, “You speak English not German because of these brave soldiers.” I knew my Uncle Bud was one of those courageous men. Fortunately, you and I will likely never have to be that brave and for a cause so great. I read another quote referencing D Day: “Your day won’t ever be that challenging nor that significant, so man up.”

As we reflect on the tremendous sacrifices as well as the incredible bravery that took place on June 6th, 1944, does it make you look at your own challenges differently? Does it ignite the bravery within you? We don’t know how brave we are until brave is our only option. In honor of these men, will you make one brave move today?

With Tremendous Gratitude,
Beth
