“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” ~ Wayne Dyer
This is actually a picture of my 3-bay garage as it stands this very morning! Beautiful, huh? Oh, my, it’s a lot. We really can’t even get in without moving things around. Are you wondering, “Is she a hoarder?” LOL, no I am not. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
I call this garage my blessed mess. I am blessed enough to have four amazing children who went off to college and two who still need me to store stuff for them until they go back in August. I’m blessed enough to be able to help furnish my daughter’s new unfurnished apartment with some hand-me-down furniture from my family. I’m blessed enough to have room to store some of my sister-in-law’s things until she moves into her beautiful new home in the fall. This 3-bay garage reminds me, every day, how blessed I am! If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
By September, this garage will be empty, and part of me will be sad to see it all go. I will not miss the clutter nor the mess, but for right now it feels like a whole lot of love, for the people I love, jammed into my garage. What mess are you looking at in your life, physical or otherwise, that you really need to look at differently? Can you spot the love in your mess? Can you spot the blessings? I know you can. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
“Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.” ~ Leo Tolstoy
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
