The Neglected Building

On my way to my tennis match this weekend, I saw this sadly neglected building as I waited at a stop light. Clearly, it hasn’t been cared for in a while and that is readily apparent to everyone who drives past this unkept property. I tried to imagine, in my mind’s eye, what this place looked like in it’s prime when it was cared for, managed, and protected. I’ll bet it looked a lot different then it does now.

Unfortunately, seeing this building made me think of me (and you)—not physically. As I sat at this stop light, I thought about the areas of my life that I have neglected a bit. I wondered if these areas of my life were more visible to me and the world, like this forlorn building, would I be more likely to fix them? I’m certain I would fix them!

So let’s ask ourselves, what have we neglected in our own life, just like this sad building has been neglected? Is it love, happiness, family, friends, health, well-being, inner peace, self-improvement, putting yourself first, sticking up for yourself, or something else? Don’t kid yourselves, we all have this neglected building in our lives—and until we accept that truth, we can’t fix it. And just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there! It’s there alright, and it needs our attention now!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
