Positive and Hopeful

I was reading an article recently about Kane Tanaka who was the world’s oldest living person and the second oldest person on record. She died last week at the age of 119 years and 107 days! Holy cow, right? Way to go Kane!

She had previously given some advice as to what helped her live so long: her large family, sleeping well, always being positive and hopeful, eating good food, practicing mathematics to develop her brain, and her daily routine of waking up early—each day began at 6 am. Which one of these nuggets of wisdom do you believe mattered most?

I, personally, believe all of them combined gave her the long life she enjoyed, but if I had to pick just one it would have to be, “always being positive and hopeful.” Older people tend to have the wisdom to know that what we are all worrying about isn’t really as important as we think it is. We waste a lot of time and energy on worry. Maybe when we see worry approaching, we will be reminded of how this supercentenarian lived her life: always being positive and hopeful! Give it a go, it certainly can’t hurt!

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!

Beth

P.S. And if I had to pick a close second, I would totally choose, “Sleeping well!”
