“Never be afraid of change. You may lose something good, but you may gain something even better.” Unknown
Change is so hard. Some people crave it, but for most people, we avoid it like the plague. I’m a little of both.
The mind loves when everything stays the same because then there’s nothing to do, no alarms need to be sounded, everything goes on as status quo. The etymology of “status quo” is “the state in which.” We could complete that sentence by adding, “we are currently in.” But change means we have to think, so isn’t that a good thing? Shouldn’t we want change to allow our mind to think different thoughts, answer different problems, and look at the world in a new way? Isn’t that what life is supposed to be about? Isn’t that the definition of growth?
Today I want us all to think about how good change is for our mind and our soul. Change means growth, regardless of how it turns out. Change means we used our brain! Change means we took a risk so our life would be better and more fulfilling! Change means we were creative, flexible, strong, brave, and that we refused to accept the status quo. When we hear the phrase, “status quo,” now, it should make us stop and think. Status quo is a very fancy, Latin way of saying: stagnant, frozen, and motionless. Is that what you want? Heck, NO!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
