Stop Adding To The Pile

This past weekend, I attended my girlfriend’s daughter’s wedding. It was such an amazing day filled with love and joy. The bride was absolutely beautiful as was everything else: flowers, setting, venue, food, and people!

As I chatted with some friends I had not seen in a long time, I realized that even at the happiest event one can attend, everyone is in a different place. People have stuff. I heard of some serious health issues, financial issues, family issues, personal issues, etc. Life isn’t simple. Yet, everyone got all dressed up and for one evening, they tried to put all of their concerns aside and have some undeniable fun.

In a world where people are really on edge right now, how do we become more compassionate? How do we learn how to let things go instead of always being at the ready to fight or defend? The weight of some people’s burdens are not always visible, but if they were, would we behave differently? I think we would. I know I would. This is mainly a reminder, for me, that life is hard and I don’t need to contribute to making it any more difficult.

Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!!
