I was on the Peloton yesterday riding with Denis Morton. For me, this ride was more of a mental health ride then anything—I chose the instructor I like, the amount of time I wanted, and the songs I knew would make me happy. So it was Denis, 20 minutes, and songs from the 60’s! It was exactly what I needed.
During the ride, Denis said, “If you take care fo the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.” These were the words I needed to hear and maybe you need to hear them, too, as we start off this week. The big picture may be a bit overwhelming, but all of the little things make the big things possible.
So today, I am going to focus on the little things. My three staples for building a good day are: a little exercise and fresh air, some good food, and some good sleep. Other little things are taking the time to plan my day and what I want to accomplish in what order. What little things do you need to focus on today? The big things are too big somedays, but the little things are manageable. I knew jumping on the bike yesterday for 20 minutes was a little thing that was going to be a big thing in the end. And it was. My mental health needed me to belt out, “Twisting’ the night away,” while also trying to dance and ride at the same time. It was a pretty hilarious sight, but well needed. Go get the little things!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
