Did you know that, as of today, we only have 96 working days remaining until 2022 comes to an end? We are down to the last quarter in work days. What do you want to happen between now and then? Do you have any goals or plans? Maybe today is the day we begin to give that some thought.
For some of you, you may not think this is so important, but if you get a year-end review, it’s incredibly important. We like to think that our bosses are keeping track of the whole year, and some do, especially if you’re in sales or some other role that has a metric. But most bosses will sit down to write a review and simply count on their memory—so the last quarter of 2022 can be incredibly important.
I want 2022 to end powerfully for you and for me. 2022 may have started off with resolutions or goals—so how’d they turn out? Did you have success or do you need to jump back on the bandwagon? Regardless, you and I still have time to get these things done. I don’t want 2022’s resolution to be 2023’s resolution as well because we didn’t get it done. Let’s take advantage of this precious time!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
Having been a “boss” for about 15 years, my observation is that the 3rd quarter is more important for your bonus amount than the 4th quarter. Your boss likely starts to review and write the staff’s performance in the middle/end of the 3rd quarter (starting about now) so that the entire process is completed well before your performance review at the end of the year. Also, the company’s management will work on their next year budget and projects list by the end of the 3rd quarter, including the promotions list.
In addition to Beth’s sage advice about completing your 2022 commitments before the end of the year, start making a list of your current year accomplishments, as well as the tasks still to be completed this year. Then, ask to have a discussion with your boss to ensure these will all be considered (remembered) for your year-end review.
David, this is great information!! Thank you for sharing!!
