Water has always mesmerized me. And now that I live near water, I spend a lot of time looking at it in wonder. I watch boats all day long traverse this waterway. Some are trying to go up the river and some are going down and out to sea, while others are simply trying to get to and fro Manhattan.
There was a point in time when water travel hadn’t been invented yet. They knew a stone weighing very little, dropped in the water, would sink right to the bottom, yet they were determined to figure out how they could get from “here to there” across a waterway. Why? Why didn’t they just stay where they were? That would have been the safest bet. They figured it out because they knew there was more out there for them and they wanted that. There were definitely risks, but they were willing to try for a more amazing life.
So here we are. Just like them. On our piece of “land.” The world of possibility is out there if, and only if, we decided to go for it! The first boat was made out of a hollowed out tree log in 8200 BC—think about how brave they were—no cell phones, no life jackets, no radar. All they had was the passion and courage to say, “I want more!” Let’s think about that for you and me.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
P.S. And if you really want to talk brave, let’s chat about the cruise ship that weights in at about 200,000 GT! Incomprehensible! And it started with a hollowed out tree log.
