You all know Stephen King, right? He’s the author that has been terrifying us senseless since the 70’s. I myself, will never forget The Shining. I wasn’t frightened enough reading it, so I decided watching Jack Nicholson play in out on the big screen would be good for my heart. LOL, not! P.S. It was years before I could sleep without a light on!
I recently read this powerful disclosure about King: In Stephen King’s book On Writing, he says he pinned every rejection letter he received to his wall with a nail. “By the time I was fourteen,” he continues, “the nail in my wall would no longer support the weight of the rejection slips impaled upon it. I replaced the nail with a spike and went on writing.” This is really helpful information that applies to us, too. Looks like we need a bigger nail!
Today is a big day for us, now that we know about King and all of his rejections—did you notice I did not write, “failures?” Rejections are: not right now and not by us. King accepted rejection as part of his journey, but he wouldn’t accept failure. Do you see the difference? It’s subtle, but HUGE! Now we can decide to apply this kind of thinking to our life—or not. It’s our choice.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
