As I shared with you before, helicopters are a thing here in Hoboken. As long as the weather is good, they are flying morning, noon, and night up and down the Hudson River. On occasion though, the morning run is a little different. Instead of the chopper getting someone from Point A to Point B, as we discussed, these choppers simply hover like a bee over it’s hive.
What we figured out is that the “hive” is the Lincoln Tunnel and these particular “bees” are air traffic news helicopters. They hover at about 12,000 feet because from that vantage point, they can make a really quick and accurate assessment of both the problem and possibly the solution (i.e. an alternate route that’s better) from that vantage point. Perspective is everything.
It’s a new year and a fresh start. Have you stopped long enough to hover in your “helicopter” to see the lay of the land before you set out to slay this year? I’m going through this process right now with my corporate clients—what does 2023 look like from above? Once you “see” the big picture, only then can you start to make a plan for all the details. Think of it this way, no one sitting in bumper to bumper traffic at the approach to the Lincoln Tunnel has any choices but to sit and wait. If he had taken advantage of making a really great plan before leaving the house, checked the aerial traffic report, he may have found a better route—and that’s what I want for you in 2023—a better route!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
P.S. You know the expression of the “30,000 foot view,” but it only works if you actually do it.
