“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” ~ Peter Pan
It’s Friday, so I can’t think of a better person to quote than Peter Pan! He’s all about not wanting to grow up and living a very playful life and also somewhat mischievous life. Sounds pretty good to me! My daughter called last night and, after quite the week, she said, “I’m done with this adult thing!” To which I responded, “Somedays, I am, too! Adulting can be no fun.
One thing that young kids possess that we lose over time is this infinite belief that all things are possible—albeit, sometimes this belief is unrealistic. This infinite belief is because they have zero doubt! Doubt doesn’t exist in them and I wish I could go back and bottle that moment in time just before doubt crept into my mind—that time when I knew I could fly!
“Odd things happen to all of us on our way through life without our noticing for a time that they have happened.” Peter Pan
If you have any small little munchkins around you, take notice of their belief that ALL things are possible. We think, “Oh, that’s so sweet that he wants to be an astronaut,” but guess what? There are astronauts!! It came true for a select few. Our thinking falls back on things like, “realistic,” and “reasonable,” because we let “doubt” overtake all of our possibilities. Today, maybe we should think like Peter Pan. The sky is the limit!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
