“Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.” John C. Maxwell
My brother-in-law sent me something from LinkedIn about “The Long Game for Personal and Professional Growth, and it was both funny and true.
The author, Uzma Bhatti, begins with anecdotally stating that people would pass on starting their own business at a cost of $1,000 because it’s too much to spend, but will drop $1,000 for a new iPhone without blinking. My favorite was her Netflix comparison—we will readily watch a 2-hour episode and maybe more, but balk at spending 2 hours to learn a new skill. I know, I’ve been trying to learn French for a year now, and all I know is Netflix!
“It’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” Tony Robbins
Bhatti finishes her piece with, “Life is about choices, stop blaming lack of opportunity.” Maxwell and Robbins hit the nail on the head, and Bhatti drove that nail home today. Every choice we make does make us. Our decisions shape our destiny. We don’t lack opportunity at all. If anything, we lack the focus, the discipline, and the courage to choose the path that will serve us best, not the easiest one.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
