When I was in Florida recently, I had the pleasure of hearing Ryan Leak speak. He’s absolutely delightful and his message packs a powerful punch. He has accomplished a great deal at his young age and he shared a little bit about how he was able to make that happen for himself.
He talked about his group of college friends that are as tight as they could possibly be. They are a group of friends that you and I wish we had—although be careful what you wish for! This group of friends is so loyal to each other that they are not afraid to tell you when you have veered off course. AND, you don’t even have to ask because they are going to get on a call with all of them and tell you straight up! They called him once when we was traveling way too much at the expense of his young family. This is “rip the bandaid off” kind of love.
We don’t ever want to be “that person,” right? We don’t want to say the “rip the bandaid off” kind of words because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings or overstep our bounds, BUT isn’t that the most LOVING thing we could do? I WISH I was a part of his friends group! I wish I had that kind of friend group for myself. Leak called it the, “Friends don’t fail me now,” friend group. He reminded all of us to pull people in who can see what we don’t see! YES!! Who is that for you? We all need that even when it’s hard to hear. Right?
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
Beth
